Job summary

Cohere Health is seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to sustain uptime and security for our AWS-hosted MERN stack and data platforms. You will optimize serverless workflows, PySpark pipelines, and data orchestration while upholding HIPAA and related compliance standards.

You will contribute to incident response, automation, and observability, shaping resilient infrastructure and data services in a remote-first environment with occasional travel to Boston for onboarding and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years operating multi-tenant cloud-hosted SaaS platforms at scale.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: Lambda, ECS/EKS, EMR/Glue for Spark, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in Python (PySpark) and Node.js for automation and data tooling.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed data orchestration pipelines and ETL tools.
• Solid understanding of MERN stack operations and Node.js runtime behavior.
• Practical experience managing production MySQL and Athena data stores.
• Proven ability to deploy immutable infrastructure (Terraform/OpenTofu).
• Minimum 1 year in HIPAA-regulated environments handling PHI.

Responsibilities

• Maintain uptime, scalability, and security of AWS-hosted MERN apps and data architectures.
• Manage serverless event-driven architectures using AWS Lambda.
• Monitor PySpark data workflows and handle failures in data pipelines.
• Participate in on-call rotation to triage outages and data bottlenecks.
• Ensure HIPAA, SOC2, and HITRUST compliance across environments and pipelines.
• Automate repetitive tasks and streamline PySpark pipeline recovery steps.
• Build dashboards and alerts for Node.js and PySpark performance.
• Lead blameless post-mortems and implement permanent fixes.
