Versant, a leading media and entertainment company, seeks a SQL Database Administrator II to ensure reliability, performance, security, and continuous improvement of our database environment across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

In this remote Florida-based position, you will administer SQL Server environments, support MySQL and PostgreSQL, and collaborate with Software Development, Data Engineering, QA, and Infrastructure to enhance observability, automation, and disaster-recovery

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server transactional database administration experience.
• Strong SQL Server administration including backups, restores, security.
• Experience with AWS RDS, Secrets Manager, S3, CloudWatch.
• Experience with high-availability and disaster-recovery (Always On).
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Own the health and reliability of SQL Server environments across Production, Staging, and Development.
• Support and administer MySQL and PostgreSQL as needed in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Monitor and optimize database performance using execution plans, wait statistics, and diagnostics.
• Strengthen database security and reliability with backups, HA, and DR strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering on CI/CD, data migrations, and deployments.
• Automate database operations and improve production support with IaC and scripting.
