Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Splunk Administrator / Technology Engineer to support enterprise monitoring, observability, and modernization initiatives. The role focuses on Splunk Administration, onboarding customers, data source integration, and maintaining health and performance of the Splunk environment.

You will design and implement tech solutions across infrastructure, data, and cloud domains, with strong Python scripting for automation and OpenTelemetry rollout.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Splunk Administration and operations.
• Experience onboarding customers and integrating enterprise data sources into Splunk.
• Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and enterprise log management.
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including systems, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
• OpenTelemetry implementation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the Splunk platform with high availability and security.
• Onboard new customers and integrate enterprise data sources.
• Troubleshoot ingestion, indexing, search, dashboards, and alerts.
• Configure indexes, forwarders, search heads, inputs, and reports.
• Develop Python automation for administration and reporting.
• Support observability initiatives across on-premises and cloud.
• Participate in OTel deployment and configuration.
• Assist with incident management and capacity planning.
• Evaluate new observability technologies.
