Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Splunk Administrator / Technology Engineer to support enterprise monitoring, observability, and operational excellence. You will onboard customers, integrate data sources, automate with Python, and lead OTel rollout efforts across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and SLA adherence, with exposure to diverse infrastructure and security domains.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Splunk Administration and Operations.
• Experience onboarding customers and integrating enterprise data sources into Splunk.
• Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and enterprise log management.
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including systems, storage, networking, middleware, security, and cloud environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the Splunk platform, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational stability.
• Onboard new customers and applications by integrating enterprise data sources into the Splunk ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Splunk platform issues related to data ingestion, indexing, search performance, dashboards, alerts, and infrastructure components.
• Configure and manage Splunk indexes, forwarders, search heads, data inputs, user access controls, reports, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms.
• Develop and maintain Python-based automation solutions for platform administration, monitoring, integrations, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Support enterprise-wide log management, monitoring, and observability initiatives across infrastructure, applications, middleware, and cloud environments.
