Job summary

Cognizant in the United States (Remote-USA) seeks a skilled Splunk Administrator / Technology Engineer to support enterprise monitoring and observability initiatives. You will design, implement, and support Splunk, automate via Python, and contribute to OpenTelemetry rollout across cloud/on-prem environments.

The role requires strong troubleshooting and collaboration with infra, security, and cloud teams, with a salary range of $114k–$128k and eligibility for Cognizant's annual incentive program.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Splunk Administration and Operations.
• Onboard customers and integrate enterprise data sources into Splunk.
• Troubleshoot Splunk infrastructure, ingestion, and search performance.
• Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and enterprise log management.
• Knowledge of systems, storage, networking, middleware, security, and cloud.
• OpenTelemetry implementation and telemetry collection experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the Splunk platform for high availability, performance, and security.
• Onboard new customers and integrate data sources into the Splunk ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot ingestion, indexing, search, dashboards, alerts, and infra components.
• Develop Python-based automation for platform admin, monitoring, and reporting.
• Collaborate with infra, application, security, networking, and cloud teams.
• Participate in OpenTelemetry rollout, including agent and collector configurations.
• Support incident management, RCA, capacity planning, and service improvement.
• Evaluate new observability technologies to improve visibility.
