Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Splunk Administrator / Technology Engineer to support enterprise monitoring, observability, and modernization efforts. The role emphasizes onboarding customers, integrating data sources, troubleshooting the Splunk platform, and maintaining health and performance across environments.

The ideal candidate has strong Python scripting capabilities and experience with OpenTelemetry, across cloud and on-prem stacks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Splunk Administration and Operations.
• Strong experience onboarding customers and integrating enterprise data sources into Splunk.
• Experience troubleshooting Splunk infrastructure, ingestion pipelines, search performance, and operational issues.
• Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and enterprise log management platforms.
• Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including systems, storage, networking, middleware, security, and cloud environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced enterprise environments supporting critical business systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the Splunk platform for high availability, performance, security, and stability.
• Onboard new customers and integrate enterprise data sources into the Splunk ecosystem.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Splunk ingestion, indexing, search, dashboards, alerts, and infrastructure issues.
• Configure and manage Splunk indexes, forwarders, search heads, inputs, user access, reports, dashboards, and alerts.
• Develop Python-based automation for platform administration, monitoring, integrations, and reporting.
