Job summary

Stride, a K12 company, is seeking a Part-time Special Education Assistant Coordinator for the Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA). This remote role supports the Special Education Coordinator to ensure program goals, compliance, and alignment with state/federal laws.

The position requires understanding of state standards, strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel up to 20% for testing and meetings. Ohio residency preferred; travel to border states possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus two years of related work experience OR equivalent combination.
• Ability to travel 20% of the time for testing, professional development and meetings.
• Ability to pass required background check.
• Understanding of state standards and state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Special Education program; help design a results-oriented program aligned with K12 curriculum.
• Assist in ensuring teachers in Special Education meet standards and encourage professional development.
• Assist with compliance documentation as required by state for Special Education students and program requirements.
• Develop and disseminate best practices for Special Education programs in the virtual school setting.
