Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for a fully remote role focused on utilization management of specialty medications, with a strong emphasis on oncology and other complex areas.

You will review coverage determinations, prior authorizations, and formulary exceptions, working with providers to ensure correct clinical criteria are applied. The position offers extensive training and a potential path to a permanent role after conversion.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy degree.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing with a U.S. State Board of Pharmacy.
• Five (5) or more years of work experience as a pharmacist in retail, managed care, or clinical pharmacy settings.

Responsibilities

• Review and complete clinical evaluations for coverage determination requests related to prior authorization and other utilization management programs.
• Assess specialty medications, primarily injectables and infused therapies across oncology and other specialties.
• Apply client-specific clinical criteria and evidence-based guidelines to determine coverage.
• Document clinical rationales clearly in appropriate systems to support determinations.
• Consult with health care providers to discuss coverage issues and clarify clinical information.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and team members to ensure consistency in decisions.
