Job summary

Actalent in Seattle is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist for a fully remote contract role focused on utilization management of specialty medications, with emphasis on oncology and other complex therapies.

The successful candidate will review coverage determinations, including prior authorizations and formulary exceptions, across Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid lines, and communicate with health care providers as needed.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing in the U.S.
• Five or more years of pharmacist experience in retail, managed care, or clinical pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Review and complete clinical evaluations for coverage determination requests related to prior authorization and utilization management.
• Assess specialty medications across oncology and other specialties.
• Apply clinical criteria and guidelines to determine coverage.
• Document rationales clearly in systems to support determinations.
• Consult with health care providers to discuss coverage issues.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and team members to ensure consistency.
• Utilize multiple computer systems to manage cases efficiently.
• Maintain productivity with approximately 30 cases per day.
• Adapt to feedback and evolving clinical criteria.
• Work remotely while contributing to a collaborative culture.
