Job summary

Connections Education LLC is seeking certified Substitute Teachers to remotely support the learning program for students in Connections Academy schools nationwide. Working from a home office, you will communicate with students, Learning Coaches, and school staff to help each child complete the instructional program.

The Washington Special Education Substitute Teacher role covers short- to long-term assignments. This position is part-time with no benefits.

Qualifications

• Substitutes must hold a valid and active full state teaching certification.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested.
• Maintain a dedicated, distraction-free home working environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong technology skills with LMS, Microsoft Office, and Google Apps.
• Reliable, high-speed internet access.
• Microsoft OS- and Microsoft Office-equipped computer required (PC preferred).

Responsibilities

• Be online and available to students, parents, and school staff Monday through Friday 8:00 am–4:00 pm in the school’s time zone.
• Communicate with parents, students and teachers to develop and update individualized learning plans and schedules.
• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences as instructed.
• Support instructional program through synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing (LiveLessons).
• Maintain student records and data, including attendance and logs.
• Work with counselors and special educators to meet individual needs and provide updates.
• Attend monthly video conferences with a Substitute Services supervisor.
• Complete required professional learning and maintain active certifications.
