Job summary

Connections Education LLC, operating Connections Academy schools across the United States, seeks certified Substitute Teachers to support students from a home office. This part-time role has no benefits and covers short- to long-term absences (typically 2–20 weeks; average 8–12 weeks).

Responsibilities include online availability 8:00 am–4:00 pm in the school time zone, regular communication with families and staff, grading, progress reports, and using LiveLessons for synchronous sessions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid and active state teaching certification.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Experience with IEP/504 plans (virtual setting helpful).

Responsibilities

• Be online and available to students, parents, and staff Monday–Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school time zone.
• Communicate with parents, students and other teachers to develop learning plans, provide feedback, and monitor progress.
• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences as instructed.
• Support the instructional program through synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions (LiveLessons).
• Support students and parents with alternate instructional strategies and daily assignments.
• Keep student records and data up to date, including attendance and logs.
• Work with counselors and special educators to meet individual student needs and provide updates.
• On non-assignment days, check email for updates and assignments.
• Meet monthly with a Substitute Services supervisor via video conferencing.
• Complete required professional learning and maintain active certifications.
