Job summary

Connections Academy seeks a Washington-based Special Education Substitute Teacher to support virtual instruction from a home office. You will act as teacher of record during short- or long-term absences, coordinating with families and school staff to ensure instructional progress.

Responsibilities include online presence 8:00 am–4:00 pm, developing learning plans, grading, and conducting parent conferences. A valid teaching certification and state credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Substitutes must hold a valid and active full state teaching certification.
• Multiple state certifications are a plus.
• Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested.

Responsibilities

• Be online and available to students, parents, and school staff Monday–Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school’s time zone.
• Communicate with parents, students and other teachers regularly to develop and update individualized learning plans and schedules.
• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences as instructed by the school.
• Support instructional program through synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions (LiveLessons).
• Maintain student records and data, and coordinate with counselors and special educators.
