Job summary

BILL is seeking a SOX Manager for Business Process and IT Application Controls (ITAC) to lead the annual SOX compliance lifecycle and drive process optimization across our finance operations. You will partner with process owners, internal/external auditors, and business leaders to maintain strong ICFR and robust controls in a growth environment.

The role requires public accounting or Fintech audit background, CPA/CIA preferred, and experience with ERP systems like NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in a large public accounting firm or Fintech, focused on SOX 404 audits and ICFR.
• CPA or CIA accreditation preferred; CISA a plus.
• Deep understanding of SOX 404, COSO, and PCAOB standards.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual SOX compliance lifecycle for business processes and ITAC.
• Serve as the liaison between management, control owners, Internal Audit, and External Auditors.
• Evaluate control deficiencies and partner on remediation plans.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline operations and increase automated controls.
• Assess and manage the SOX impact of new financial systems and changes.
• Support policy development and standardization across business units.
• Prepare status updates and remediation progress reports for management.
• Manage PMO timelines and external auditors as needed.
• Provide coaching on control responsibilities to business process owners.
