Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer for storage infrastructure administration in the United States. The role focuses on DASD, tape, encryption, and replication for backup and disaster recovery, with daily customer support and migrations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with IBM storage software, strong analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of storage-related experience; bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
• Extensive knowledge of DASD and tape subsystems performance.
• Extensive IBM storage software experience (Copy Services Manager, Global Mirroring, SMS, HSM, IDCAMS, DFDSS).
• Experience in Disaster Recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide DASD and tape storage administration support for customers.
• Manage storage pools for multiple customers and LPARs.
• Perform problem diagnostics and resolution.
• Create and oversee backup jobs for daily, weekly, and monthly backups.
• Participate in Data Center migration projects.
• Perform data and volume recovery and migrations.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery tests.
• Interact with account management and customers.
• Mentor and train Storage team members.
