CEI is seeking a Mainframe Storage Administrator to support and modernize enterprise IBM z/OS storage environments. You will join an Operations group focused on keeping daily operations running while improving reliability, utilization, and storage processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or 6 years of relevant IT experience), 9+ years in IT, and 2+ years in corporate planning or strategic development. Strong SMS, DFSMSdss, and ISMF skills are essential.

Mainframe Storage Administrator

Role: Mainframe Storage Administrator
Rate: 78/hr
Work location: Columbia, SC (strongly preferred) — also considered: State College, PA or Dallas, TX; open to fully-remote (U.S.)
Schedule:M-F 40 hours

Overview

We’re seeking a Mainframe Storage Administrator to support and modernize enterprise IBM z/OS storage environments. You’ll join an Operations organization focused on keeping daily operations running while improving reliability, utilization, and storage processes.

Required Experience / Education

• Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent: 6 years of relevant experience may substitute)
• 9+ years related IT experience
• 2+ years in corporate planning or strategic development (can be concurrent)

Preferred

• 11+ years related IT experience
• 4+ years in corporate planning or strategic development (can be concurrent)

Required Technologies / Skills

• Storage utilization and capacity reporting
• DASD device initialization and configuration
• DFSMSdss full-volume and logical dataset dump/restore
• SMS administration:
  • Coding SMS ACS routines
  • Using ISMF to translate/validate/activate ACS routines
  • Defining and maintaining SMS constructs
  • Monitoring SMS storage group utilization
• HSM configuration and administration
• RMM configuration and administration
