Scopic is a fully remote software company seeking a Solutions Architect to define the technical direction of client projects and internal products. This is a remote, hourly-paid position with contractors paid monthly via wire transfer.

You will shape architecture from discovery to delivery, engage in sales conversations, and collaborate with executives to align tech decisions with business goals. You must have hands-on coding ability today and be comfortable mentoring engineers while guiding

Formación

• 10+ years in software development, with at least 3 years in an architect, principal engineer, or tech lead role.
• Hands-on coding ability today; comfortable reviewing pull requests and prototyping.
• Experience in AI-powered engineering (including AI in the SDLC).
• Proven experience designing distributed, cloud-native, scalable systems; product ownership end-to-end.
• Excellent written and spoken English; available to work in the PST timezone.
• Experience working directly with clients or executives on scope, budget, and technical trade-offs.

Responsabilidades

• Share ownership of technical strategy, architectural standards, and engineering priorities.
• Own the product and technical roadmap for internal products: decide what gets built, why, and in what order based on user and business value.
• Bring a product lens to client projects: challenge requirements, propose better solutions, and focus effort on what moves the client's business.
• Design solution architectures for new client projects and internal products, from discovery through delivery.
• Join sales and pre-sales conversations: scope projects, estimate effort, and translate client business goals into technical plans.
• Review and challenge architecture decisions across teams; step in hands-on on critical or high-risk technical problems.
• Evaluate build vs. buy decisions, tech stack choices, and AI adoption with cost, risk, and ROI in mind.
• Represent engineering with executives and client stakeholders, including C-level.
• Mentor tech leads and senior engineers; raise the bar on code quality, security, and delivery practices.
