Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators in Bakersfield, CA and surrounding areas.

This role suits an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
4+ years of electrical experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Strong understanding of NEC/AHJ and utility interconnection requirements.
Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC/AHJ and utility compliance.
Maintain service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
Follow safety procedures including PPE, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
