Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support pre-commissioning and commissioning of SCADA and communications systems for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.

This fully remote role involves travel to multiple job sites across the United States; candidates should have 3–5 years of commissioning experience and a strong understanding of electrical and networking systems, NFPA/NEC standards, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar power projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Ability to interpret Electrical and Mechanical Drawings/ Schematics.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams (engineering, construction, QA, SCADA) to align commissioning activities.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests (performance, functional, reliability).
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal SCADA and site communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting tests, issues, and corrective actions.
• Assist site commissioning personnel with Safety Tagging, Lockout & Work Permit Program.
