Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior performance engineer to specialize in solar PV energy yield assessments for utility-scale projects. The role focuses on PV and energy storage performance modeling with opportunities to expand across CSP, wind, and other renewables.

You will perform solar resource assessments, data analysis, and long-term yield predictions, collaborating with clients, utilities, and developers on high-visibility engagements from a remote location in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science discipline is required.
• 3+ years of energy industry experience with solar or renewables preferred.
• Experience with solar resource assessment and energy yield prediction methods.
• Experience with data analysis tools and technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform solar resource assessments using satellite and ground data.
• Analyze operational production and climatic data from solar projects.
• Conduct PV, wind, and storage project modeling and optimization.
• Use PVsyst and Excel-based post-processing tools for long-term yield estimates.
• Prepare client-ready technical reports and communicate results.
