Job summary

Avalon Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Supervisor, Software Engineering to lead and contribute technically while mentoring a high-performing team. The role combines hands-on coding with leadership, architecture input, and collaboration across product teams to deliver scalable, secure software.

The position is eligible for remote work with quarterly travel to Avalon's corporate office in Tampa, Florida, and focuses on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence in a healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 10+ years direct, relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Experience in Agile (SAFe, Scrum and Kanban) environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with IT engineering, QA, and automation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute as a hands-on team member to code, architecture, and design decisions alongside the team.
• Provide day-to-day leadership for the engineering team.
• Mentor and develop team members through regular coaching and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with product teams, architects, and stakeholders on requirements and roadmaps.
• Recruitment input and participate in hiring decisions.
• Stay current with technology trends and foster continuous learning.
• Ensure reliable delivery of scalable, secure, high-quality solutions.
