Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead delivery, modernization, and operational excellence for CCA Order Entry and Retail Inventory applications. You will manage an established engineering team and stay technically hands-on through design reviews, pull requests, debugging, and selective development.

You will partner with product, architecture, and operations to deliver reliable, scalable software solutions, drive cloud migration strategy, and build strong engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading software teams in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on code reviews, debugging, and implementation support.
• Experience delivering business-critical applications.
• Strong CI/CD, testing strategy, observability, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead a software engineering team for CCA Order Entry and Retail Inventory apps.
• Contribute in code reviews, debugging, and selective development work.
• Own delivery, reliability, and modernization across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, platform, and operations teams.
• Define engineering strategy for cloud migration, resiliency, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Promote agile delivery, DevSecOps, observability, and release discipline.
• Coach engineers with clear expectations and growth opportunities.
• Ensure delivery commitments and customer impact are tracked.
• Translate business processes into engineering priorities and plans.
• Improve system reliability and incident readiness with metrics.
