Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Software Engineer for Virtual Test Platforms to join a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. You will build and enhance virtual testing capabilities to validate software at scale, collaborating across development, testing, and infrastructure teams.

Remote work is available for US-based candidates, with a hybrid setup requiring in-office presence at least 3 days per week. The role offers opportunities to impact CI/CD, tooling, and test coverage across products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in C/C++/Rust or similar
• Experience automating testing for embedded or mobile products at scale
• Ability to work quickly and effectively in a team in ambiguous situations

Responsibilities

• Configure and customize virtual test environments using KVM, QEMU, Android Emulators, and cloud services
• Assist product teams with integrating virtual test environments into their CI/CD processes
• Create virtual devices to enhance coverage and fidelity, including VirtIO drivers
• Develop custom test tools and simulators to improve testing efficiency and quality
• Enhance reporting and data collection for test results with dashboards and reports
• Write production-quality code, prototypes, and reference implementations to unblock teams
• Create guidance and documentation to share knowledge across the engineering community
