Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a backend-focused engineer to build and maintain authentication features and identity management integrations. The role emphasizes secure software development and collaboration with security teams, product teams, and experienced mentors.

The candidate will work on integrating leading identity platforms (Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock) and delivering scalable backend services. This remote-first opportunity is based in Canada with eligibility by province.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to write, test, and debug software in Python or Kotlin.
• Foundational backend development knowledge: APIs, data structures, databases, version control.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a practical mindset.
• Interest in authentication and identity management, CIAM concepts.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and participate in reviews and testing.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver customer-facing authentication features (login, MFA, step-up, device binding).
• Develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Integrate Okta, Auth0, ForgeRock with applications.
• Participate in the full SDLC: design, implementation, testing, reviews, deployment.
• Debug production issues using logs and metrics to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to translate requirements.
• Apply secure software practices to protect customer data.
• Learn from senior engineers and progressively take ownership.
