Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals with high-throughput services and critical data pipelines.
• Experience owning complex systems end-to-end from design to production operations.
• Proven ability to collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional partners.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and delivery of backend systems for cost basis tracking, gain/loss, withholding automation, and tax reporting infrastructure.
• Build pipelines for broker reporting, automated withholding, and integrations as Coinbase expands into equities and options.
• Partner with Product, Design, Tax, Trading, and Positions teams to translate ambiguous requirements into shipped solutions.
• Drive an extensible tax architecture so new products plug into shared primitives.
• Enhance engineering quality through reviews and technical mentorship.
