Job summary

Self Fund Health is seeking a Software Engineer (Agents & Operational Systems) to design and ship production-grade AI agents and tooling. You will build agent logic, tools, and prompt structures, integrate APIs and MCP servers, and analyze conversation logs to improve performance.

You will work on practical AI agents to bend the administrative and clinical cost curve in healthcare, using LLM-assisted development tools and practicing safe, releasable software.

Qualifications

• Mid-career software engineering experience.
• High proficiency with modern LLM-based development and agentic systems.
• Proficient in leveraging LLM coding assistants.
• Healthcare domain literacy and understanding of health plans, self-funding, CLAIMS data.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship AI agents and multi-agent workflows on modern agent frameworks.
• Curate agent tooling, data feeds, APIs, data pipelines, and connectors for context and execution power.
• Grounding in healthcare domain concepts such as plan designs, network tiers, copay structures, claims data.
• Evaluation, guardrails and reliability: iterate on production activity of agents and architect for reliability and security.
• Cross-functional collaboration with technologists, clinical teams, operations, and sales to automate and improve processes.
