Job summary
Protingent Staffing seeks a Sodium Fire Design and Analysis Engineer for a contract role. The engineer will develop methodologies to model sodium reactions and aerosols, perform validations of modeling codes, and create analytical tools for containment performance.
Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team is essential to address safety, reliability, and regulatory expectations. Required are an advanced degree in nuclear engineering with at least 10 years in the nuclear field and experience
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in nuclear engineering or equivalent required.
- Deep knowledge of sodium chemistry and reactor thermal-hydraulic phenomena.
- Experience with sodium fire analysis using established codes is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidance and QA requirements is expected.
Responsibilities
- Develop methodologies to model sodium reactions from various sources.
- Model aerosol generation and transport from sodium fires.
- Perform CGD of sodium fire modeling codes and create analytical models for containment.
- Support regulatory submittals and NRC interactions.
