Job summary
Protingent is seeking a Sodium Fire Analysis Engineer to develop analytical models for sodium reactions and containment performance, including mass and energy release computations. The role involves aerosol transport modeling, software QA, and support for regulatory submittals and NRC interactions.
You will work with an interdisciplinary team to establish functional, reliability, and safety requirements for SSCs supporting radionuclide containment, while documenting methods and findings for
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in nuclear engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years nuclear industry experience
- Knowledge of sodium reactions and reactor dynamics
- Experience with sodium fire analysis tools is preferred
- Familiarity with containment design and regulatory guidance
Responsibilities
- Develop analytical models for quantification of sodium reactions from various sources
- Model aerosol generation and transport analyses
- QA activities to qualify sodium fire modeling codes
- Support development of mechanistic source term methods
- Support sodium fire protection program development
- Assess containment performance including mass and energy release and leak rates
- Prepare documentation of model development and results
- Perform engineering reviews of analyses and media
- Recommend design solutions for worker protection and containment
