Overview

Nuclear Code Validation and Scaling Analysis Consultant

A leading advanced reactor developer working on the first commercial sodium fast reactor demonstration project in the US, supported by government partnership and world-class technical teams.

Role Responsibilities
  • Review and develop scaling methodologies supporting integral and separate effect test design per Regulatory Guide 1.203
  • Perform scaling analyses to establish similarity between experiments and the prototype reactor design
  • Contribute to assessment bases, benchmark calculations, and code adequacy evaluations
  • Mentor junior engineers in experiment design and scaling analysis techniques
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or relevant field with 5+ years in the nuclear industry
  • Extensive experience developing scaling methodologies and performing analysis under RG 1.203
  • Proficiency with nuclear safety analysis codes such as SAS4A/SASSYS-1, RELAP5, TRACE, or similar
  • Familiarity with EMDAP, NQA-1 requirements, and non-light water reactor regulatory guidance
