Forbes in Milton, MA is seeking a temporary Social Producer to help get our journalism in front of the right audiences across social platforms. This editorial role focuses on distribution: identifying the stories that matter, framing them for each platform and turning audience interest into readership for Forbes journalism.

You’ll publish on Facebook, LinkedIn and X, while supporting Threads, Bluesky and WhatsApp.

Qualifications

• Sharp news judgment and commitment to accuracy.
• 2–3+ years in a digital newsroom or related editorial role.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
• Hands-on publishing across Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
• Understanding of platform-specific audience behavior.
• Ability to make independent editorial decisions under deadline.
• Interest in business journalism.
• Comfort using performance data to inform publishing decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with Canva or Figma; basic social asset creation preferred.
• Video editing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify stories with strong social potential and decide what to publish, when and how to frame them.
• Write, edit, schedule and publish platform-specific posts across Facebook, LinkedIn, X and emerging platforms.
• Move quickly during breaking news while maintaining Forbes’ standards for accuracy, sourcing and editorial judgment.
• Select or create basic social assets, partnering with design and art teams on more complex packaging.
• Identify trends and opportunities on social platforms and communicate effectively with editors
• Monitor performance and platform trends, using those insights to improve day-to-day publishing decisions and flag opportunities for the newsroom.
• Work closely with editors, reporters and audience colleagues while maintaining Forbes’ editorial standards and accuracy.
