Forbes is seeking a temporary Social Producer to help get our journalism in front of the right audiences across social platforms. This editorial role focuses on distribution: identifying the stories that matter and framing them for each platform to turn audience interest into readership for Forbes journalism.

You will publish across Facebook, LinkedIn and X, with support for Threads, Bluesky and WhatsApp. The role covers breaking news, features, investigations and Forbes franchises, requiring

Qualifications

• ~2–3+ years of experience in a digital newsroom or editorial role.
• Strong news judgment and writing/copy-editing skills.
• Hands-on experience publishing journalism across social platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, X).
• Understanding of platform-specific audience behavior and best practices.
• Comfort using performance data to inform publishing decisions.
• Basic social asset creation is preferred.
• Video editing experience is a plus.
• News obsessive with fast, creative coverage.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, schedule and publish platform-specific posts across Facebook, LinkedIn, X and emerging platforms.
• Move quickly during breaking news while maintaining Forbes’ standards for accuracy, sourcing and editorial judgment.
• Select or create basic social assets, partnering with design and art teams on more complex packaging.
• Identify trends and opportunities on social platforms and communicate effectively with editors.
• Monitor performance and platform trends, using those insights to improve day-to-day publishing decisions and flag opportunities for the newsroom.
• Sharp news judgment, a strong understanding of the news cycle and a commitment to accuracy and journalistic standards.
