Job summary

Dr. Berg Nutritionals is seeking an experienced Proofreader to ensure our social media content is error-free and compliant. The role focuses on grammar, style, and accurate captions across YouTube and social channels.

The candidate will review transcripts, on-screen text, thumbnails, and metadata, collaborating with editors and social managers to align with brand voice and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in proofreading, editing, or content review (digital media or publishing preferred).
• Mastery of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style, with ability to adapt to a brand's tone.
• Experience reviewing multimedia content (transcripts, on-screen text, thumbnails, audio alignment).
• Familiarity with AP, Chicago, or in-house style guides.
• Strong understanding of social copy conventions (character limits, platform tone, formatting).
• Excellent attention to detail and listening comprehension for spoken content.
• Ability to manage high volumes under tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Clear, constructive communication skills and collaborative working style.
• Commitment to maintaining compliance with brand and regulatory standards.
• Awareness of SEO and social optimization (keywords, hashtags, formatting).
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices (captions, visual clarity).
• Eye for visual accuracy in graphics, branding, and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Review and proof YouTube content at multiple checkpoints, ensuring accuracy in audio, visuals, captions, metadata, and alignment with brand style and direction.
• Proofread and fact-check social media content, including short-form copy, captions, hashtags, graphics, and subtitles, to maintain clarity, accuracy, and brand voice.
• Identify and elevate quality or compliance risks within YouTube and social content before publication.
• Communicate with video editors and social media managers to ensure accuracy across all platforms by providing feedback on grammar, spelling, and brand alignment.
