IDEXX Laboratories, Inc is seeking a Small Animal Internal Medicine Consultant to provide live phone consultations to veterinary professionals across the US and Canada, supporting diagnostic interpretation and patient care decisions, with a fully remote, 40-hour workweek.

The role offers a starting salary of $140,000 to $150,000 per year, eligible for an annual bonus, comprehensive benefits from day one, and a schedule Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• DVM with ACVIM SAIM board certification or equivalent.
• Active veterinary license (state or provincial) as applicable.
• Strong clinical expertise in small animal internal medicine and diagnostic interpretation.
• Ability to communicate complex medical information clearly over the phone.
• Comfort working remotely with a dedicated office space and high-speed internet.
• Commitment to ongoing continuing education and Diplomate status.
• Ability to manage multiple consultations in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live phone consultations regarding lab results, diagnostics, and treatment options.
• Guide clinicians on specimen handling and test accuracy factors.
• Advise on IDEXX reference tests, including specimen requirements and interpretation.
• Support customers with Point-of-Care diagnostics (SNAP, VetTest, CatalystDX, LaserCyte, ProCyte).
• Manage a consistent caseload while meeting turnaround times and working within scheduled hours.
• Maintain and grow clinical expertise through CE and literature.
• Participate in regular consulting service meetings and IDEXX trainings.
• Document all consultation interactions in the CRM system.
• Maintain active board certification and licensure.
