Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, SAMTRAC).
• 4–6 years of experience as a safety officer in construction.
• Experience developing and implementing safety management systems.
• Strong knowledge of SA OHS Act and construction safety regulations.
• Excellent remote communication using digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety management plans.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and develop control measures.
• Monitor safety performance via virtual inspections and reports.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents with detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with national and local regulations and client requirements.
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks virtually or remotely.
• Maintain safety records and audit trails.
• Advise on safety best practices and legal obligations.
• Promote a positive safety culture across projects.
• Serve as a key contact for safety queries from site teams.
