Job summary

Lakeview IT is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the stability, reliability, and scalability of production systems. You will collaborate with development, engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to improve performance, reduce downtime, and automate tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience with scripting and automation in PowerShell or Python.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization and Azure VDI.
• Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (ITSM).
• Extensive expertise with Windows operating system.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all systems and infrastructure for high availability and proactive incident resolution.
• Act as backup Incident Manager during outages.
• Collaborate with teams/vendors to diagnose complex performance issues.
• Document incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboards (New Relic).
• Define alert ownership, response steps, and thresholds to reduce noise.
• Integrate alerts with Jira Service Management to create actionable tickets.
• Perform and monitor backup, restore, and data protection using Commvault.
• Validate recoverability via periodic restore testing and report health gaps.
• Operate workloads in Azure and AWS, including compute, storage, networking, and identity services.
• Execute routine maintenance: patching, vulnerability remediation, backups.
• Optimize system performance and resource utilization in cloud and on-premises.
• Create automation scripts to streamline tasks.
• Document IT processes, runbooks, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
