Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Site Engineer, Power Delivery to support transmission and substation projects within the Energy business line. The role offers remote work options and placement across multiple US Energy offices.

You will lead civil work at substation sites, manage earthwork, drainage and foundations, and collaborate with electrical teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery from design through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Proven experience with site grading, drainage, roads, earthworks, and substation layout development and transmission access/alignment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for civil design and detailing.
• Understanding of substation site planning, transmission/substation access requirements, and integration with electrical layouts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage civil work at substation and transmission line sites, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and construction schedules.
• Create and supervise earthwork, grading, drainage systems, access roads, cable trenches and foundations for substations and lines.
• Review, interpret and create civil design drawings, document discrepancies and provide practical solutions.
• Coordinate site surveys (geotechnical and LIDAR) to determine transmission line routes and substation layouts.
• Review and approve civil construction methodologies, work plans and method statements.
