Job summary

AECOM has a Senior Structural Engineer role to support our Energy Practice’s Power Delivery Initiative. The position offers freedom to work remotely and/or from multiple US offices, including Denver, CO.

We seek candidates with deep experience in substations and civil/structural design for heavy industrial clients, plus PE licensure. Responsibilities include leading projects, modeling, schedules, budgets, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and 6+ years’ relevant experience.
• Experience in structural design for overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.
• Experience with Substation projects.
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) required or proven equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Act as structural lead and engineer of record for substations and related projects.
• Perform calculations and develop analytical models for steel and concrete design.
• Coordinate with engineers on workload forecasts, schedules, and budgets.
• Support proposal effort with task and effort estimates.
• Contribute to business development around substation and HV infrastructure.
• Mentor other civil/structural engineers and help set department standards.
• Travel to other AECOM locations and client sites as needed.
