Job summary

Language Services Associates, Inc. seeks qualified telephonic interpreters to join its network of Independent Contractors. The role involves on-demand telephone interpretation to assist LEP individuals across diverse settings.

Responsibilities include handling inbound calls, delivering professional interpreting services remotely, and upholding confidentiality and professional conduct policies. Candidates fluent in Sinhala and English are encouraged to apply; certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Full fluency in both English and Sinhala.
• Technology proficiency (web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word).
• An interpreting space that is quiet, secure, and free from outside noises.
• 1+ year of professional interpreting experience preferred.
• Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural, etc.)

As a telephonic interpreter for Sinhalain LSA’s network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you are responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in a variety of settings.
