Job summary

Stanford University’s Cardiovascular Biomechanics Computation Lab seeks a SimVascular Software Engineer and Architect to lead svMP solver development, review contributions, and design scalable software for FDA-ready virtual surgery and patient-specific modeling.

You will mentor staff and students, oversee testing and automation, and collaborate with Marsden lab members and national partners to advance open-source tools like SimVascular and 3D Slicer integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience designing, developing, testing and deploying applications.
• Strong understanding of data design, architecture, relational databases, and data modeling.
• Thorough understanding of software development life cycle and quality control practices.
• Ability to lead complex projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Propose, conceptualize, design, implement, and develop solutions for difficult applications.
• Contribute to all phases of a project; serve as project lead for some projects.
• Oversee testing, debugging, change control, and documentation for major projects.
• Lead and mentor professional staff across all phases of application development.
• Engage in long-term strategic planning with project leadership.
• Define development standards and ensure quality control.
