Job summary

Stanford University’s Cardiovascular Biomechanics Computation Lab seeks a SimVascular Software Engineer and Architect to work remotely with a strong focus on high-performance C++ software for cardiovascular modeling. You will help advance Segmentation, virtual surgery, and FDA-ready simulation tools within the SimVascular ecosystem.

Role requires leading svMP development, mentoring researchers, and planning for future FDA submission while collaborating across national labs and the Marsden group.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming with C++.
• Experience with software development in the healthcare sector.
• Experience with large scale physics-based solvers in a high-performance computing environment.
• Experience with parallel computing (MPI), version control (GitHub), Agile development, Python, and AI-assisted development.
• Architecting and guiding svMultiPhysics (svMP) and refactoring efforts for future FDA submission.
• Mentor staff, graduate students, and postdocs across collaborating labs.

Responsibilities

• Propose, design, implement, and develop solutions for complex applications.
• Oversee testing, debugging, change control, and documentation for major projects.
• Lead and mentor professional staff across application development projects.
• Engage in long-term strategic planning with Dr. Marsden and collaborators.
• Oversee and guide svMP solver refactoring and performance improvements.
• Ensure code quality, testing, and documentation; contribute to web-based docs.
