Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc is seeking an Interpreter to provide high quality American Sign Language interpreting through video in a call center. The role requires fluent ASL and spoken English, accurate interpreting, and strict adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.

ZP Flex Interpreters (15 hours over 6 weeks) have access to a Telehealth Plan, community work when available, flexible scheduling, 401(k) with employer match, EAP, and massage reimbursement as part of the benefits.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English required.
• Able to provide accurate interpretation.
• Good understanding of Deaf culture.
• Thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Three to five years experience in interpreting (preferred).
• State licensure where applicable.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service and video remote interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company's mission and values.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a respectful and professional attitude.
• Exhibit punctuality and preparedness for shifts, respectful interaction with colleagues.
• Adhere to all policies and FCC regulations.
• Demonstrate ability to adapt to new technologies and multitask interpreting with video.
• Participate in company-sponsored training for professional development.
• Onsite interpreting offered based on business need; valid driver’s license and insurance may be required.
