Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Senior Safety professional to lead SH&E programs across the US. The remote-based role requires extensive travel to ensure safety standards are implemented at branches and projects, with 75% overnight travel.

You will develop training, conduct audits, and partner with Branch Managers to strengthen safety performance. A CSP/ASP/CIH or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field or equivalent experience with at least 7 years in SH&E management and program implementation.
• Safety certifications CSP, ASP and CIH preferred.
• Willingness to travel 75% overnight, including weekends.
• Must live near a major airport hub; US-wide coverage.
• Construction or project-based safety experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Excellent organizational abilities and workload management.
• Ability to present information in classroom or conference-call settings.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic SH&E plans with measurable goals.
• Positive, self-motivated, and dependable with multi-tasking skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT regulations, and safety program standards.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support Project Safety Coordinators across branches in assigned region.
• Travel up to 75% for safety oversight of projects and events.
• Prepare reports and recommend procedures to improve performance.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed at branches and projects.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits using established criteria.
• Assign Safety Coordinators to locations in coordination with Branch Managers.
• Deliver safety training modules to employees.
• Support incident investigations and follow-up reporting requirements.
• Track and trend incident data to improve region performance.
• Collaborate with Safety Director and leadership on annual SH&E plans.
