Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking a Severe Needs Para Educator to support students with severe special education needs under licensed staff. You will assist with curriculum, behavior strategies, and assignments, both in-class and in remote settings when needed.

The role requires preparing instructional materials, monitoring progress, and maintaining records, with emphasis on safety and adaptation to individual IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
• No professional work experience required
• Title I assignments requirements (education and assessment)
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training
• Medication administration training as needed
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students
• Ability to modify curriculum for diverse learners
• Ability to implement behavior modification techniques
• Confidentiality and professional conduct

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities; adapt curriculum to individual needs (Daily).
• Implement IEP accommodations and monitor progress (Daily).
• Assist with materials, tests, attendance and documentation (Daily).
• Support online/remote learning activities and technology troubleshooting (Daily).
• Maintain records of student progress with licensed staff (Daily).
• Provide safe, respectful assistance and de-escalation as needed (Daily).
• Perform other duties as assigned (Daily)
• Monitor behavior and reinforce appropriate social interactions (Daily)
• Assist in Homebound/ILC settings with care tasks and safety measures (Daily)
