Job summary

Cherry Creek Careers is seeking a Severe Needs Para Educator to support students with severe special education needs under licensed staff. You will assist with curriculum adaptation, skill development, behavior strategies, and assignment completion in classrooms and remote settings when needed.

The role involves preparing instructional materials, monitoring progress, maintaining records, providing technical physical care, and promoting a safe, hygienic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, no professional work experience required, Crisis Prevention Intervention training, medication administration training as needed.
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students; intermediate verbal and written communication; intermediate interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities, adapting curriculum to individual needs and delivering instruction to individuals or small groups (daily 35%).
• Maintain progress and behavior records; report observations to IEP team; provide feedback and complete required documentation (daily 30%).
• Prepare instructional materials, tests, attendance records, and participate in events like fire drills (daily 5%).
• Assist with online/remote learning tasks, including technology support and course completion (daily 50%).
• Support students in troubleshooting technology and assist with other duties as assigned (daily 5%).
