Zusammenfassung

VetsEZ is seeking a Team Lead / Senior Systems Engineer to drive enterprise Windows Server operations for VA healthcare IT. You will lead a hands-on, senior engineering team responsible for design, hardening, backups, and secure configurations across development, staging, and production environments.

You will oversee Active Directory, SNMP services, clustering, and high-availability efforts, coordinating with VA stakeholders.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline; eight years may substitute for degree.
• 5+ years of experience in relevant roles.
• Experience administering and engineering Windows Server environments in large-scale or enterprise settings.
• Experience leading technical teams and reviewing team output.
• Experience designing enterprise Windows infrastructure including high availability, clustering, and storage solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, GPOs, Windows clustering, and SAN storage.
• Proficiency in patch management, system hardening, and federal security standards.
• Experience with Hyper-V and VMM tooling.
• Familiarity with backup and monitoring tools such as Commvault, SolarWinds, or SCOM.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Aufgaben

• Lead a team of system administrators and engineers, assigning work, setting priorities, and tracking progress against program deliverables.
• Design, engineer, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
• Own the enterprise backup strategy using Commvault, including scheduling and testing.
• Oversee enterprise services like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMB, RDP, and GPOs; set configuration standards.
• Lead implementation of STIGs, vulnerability remediation, and secure remote access configurations.
• Mentor and develop team members and provide input on staffing needs.
• Plan deployment of enterprise software tools such as Visual Studio, Power BI, SQL Server, and Jupyter Lab.
• Establish PowerShell automation standards and review scripts; guide AI-assisted tooling usage.
