Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Windows System Administrator to support enterprise healthcare IT operations for the VA. The role provides hands-on administration of Windows environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs, with emphasis on security, backups, and high-availability configurations.

Strong experience with Hyper-V, SAN storage, and enterprise monitoring tools is required. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical field; 8 years of experience may substitute the degree.
• Experience administering Windows Server in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on with AD, GPOs, Windows clustering, sFTP, and SAN storage.
• Patch management, hardening, and federal security compliance.
• Experience with Hyper-V and VMM virtualization.
• Familiarity with backup/monitoring tools (Commvault, SolarWinds, SCOM).
• Scripting skills (PowerShell); strong troubleshooting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and maintain Windows Server systems across dev, staging, and prod.
• Administer enterprise services: AD, DNS, DHCP, SMB, RDP, and GPOs.
• Perform routine maintenance, monitoring, and security optimization for uptime.
• Configure clusters, SAN volumes, and MPIO for high-availability apps.
• Support HP ProLiant servers and firmware updates.
• Operate monitoring tools (SCOM, SolarWinds) for system health.
• Configure NIC teaming, Mellanox NICs, and switch integrations.
• Implement STIGs for hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Manage secure remote access tools (sFTP, RDP) with encryption controls.
• Configure and manage Commvault backups, scheduling and restores.
• Support deployment of Visual Studio, Power BI, SQL Server, Jupyter Lab.
• Troubleshoot issues across Hyper-V and physical systems, ensure fast recovery.
• Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and cybersecurity for compliance.
• Maintain documentation and topology diagrams for audits.
