Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to join our Waterway Structures team. The position is fully remote and involves designing large, complex waterway projects from concept through construction, serving municipal and public sector clients.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, 15+ years of water engineering experience, and a PE license, with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• 15+ years of related water engineering experience required.
• PE license required.
• Experience with structural software analysis packages (e.g., SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro).
• US Army Corps of Engineers design procedures and Dam Safety Guidelines a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other related software.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrate the ability to properly scope capital projects from concept through construction.
• Forecast project timelines, prepare schedule for staff and meet deadlines for multiple projects at a time.
• Oversee and manage the design and bidding of capital improvement projects including but not limited to complex waterway structures (e.g., locks, dams, hydraulic steel structures, pump stations, hydraulic gates, and waterfronts).
• Perform site investigations & due diligence including the research of utility services, determination of applicability of outside agency regulations, review of ordinances and performance of site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.
• Manage and mentor engineer staff.
• Provide oversight and knowledge to guide the design of waterway structures.
• Oversee the preparation of construction specifications, public bid documents and construction cost estimates for municipal and public sector clients.
• Check final design/draft structural tasks of complex projects.
• Exhibit expert concrete, steel, wood, and masonry design skills for complex projects.

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to join our Waterway Structures team! The work arrangement for this position is fully remote.

The Waterway Structures team is growing and has exciting projects for engineers who like to design large complex projects on or near the water. Our projects are unique and provide a diverse array of interesting work to keep our staff challenged and engaged.

As a recognized national leader in the design of waterway structures, we handle projects from initial investigation and concept design, through final design and construction services. By applying our extensive knowledge and experience, we believe our engineers can build a more sustainable world through design while protecting our most valuable resource and delivering cost-effective solutions that meet our clients’ goals.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to properly scope capital projects from concept through construction.

• Possess the ability to find solutions to design issues regarding site constraints, applicable regulations, budgets, and timing.
• Oversee and manage the design and bidding of capital improvement projects including but not limited to complex waterway structures (e.g., locks, dams, hydraulic steel structures, pump stations, hydraulic gates, and waterfronts).
• Perform site investigations & due diligence including the research of utility services, determination of applicability of outside agency regulations, review of ordinances and performance of site visits to establish comprehensive development guidelines.

• 15+ years of related water engineering experience required.
• PE license required.
• Experience with various structural engineering software analysis packages (i.e.: SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro).
• Prior experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers design procedures and Dam Safety Guidelines is a plus.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other related software.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
  
  

Compensation: $120,500 to $154,100 per year (depending on qualifications)
