Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Water Treatment Technical Expert to lead process engineering for drinking water projects nationwide. The role involves technical leadership across conventional and advanced treatment, staff mentorship, and client collaboration.

The candidate will guide design, optimization, and pilot testing, while identifying market opportunities and ensuring regulatory compliance within municipal water systems. Full remote consideration is available with support for Olsson offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum of 15 years of drinking water industry experience, including process design and engineering.
• Active professional organization participation.
• Strong technical background in municipal water market and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in leading and mentoring others.
• Must be a licensed professional engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for treatment process selection, design, optimization, pilot testing, and commissioning.
• Support project delivery, staff development and mentorship, and technical innovation.
• Provide insights into firm water treatment strategy and technical approaches to support key pursuits.
• Identify market trends, emerging water quality issues, client needs, and needed technical expertise.
• Help build strong relationships with internal staff, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop team members to become water sector technical experts.
