Job summary

Olsson seeks an experienced Water Treatment Technical Expert to elevate our water treatment process engineering capabilities on a national basis. You will provide firmwide technical leadership for treatment processes, including conventional and advanced methods, potable reuse, PFAS treatment, surface water and groundwater.

You will mentor staff, support project delivery, and shape strategies while building client relationships and leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• Master’s degree in chemical, civil or environmental engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of drinking water industry experience, including process design and engineering.
• Must be a licensed professional engineer (PE).
• Strong technical background in municipal water market, water treatment and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in leading and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for treatment process selection, design, optimization, pilot testing, and commissioning.
• Support project delivery, staff development and mentorship, and technical innovation.
• Provide insights into firm water treatment strategy and technical approaches to support key pursuits.
• Identify market trends, emerging water quality issues, client needs, and technical expertise needed.
• Help build relationships with internal staff, clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders.
• Reinforce collaboration and team building, ensure client focus and drive excellence and innovation.
• Work with clients on Olsson-led projects, developing long-term client relationships.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design water treatment facilities.
• Mentor, guide, and develop other team members into water sector experts.
