Job summary

Olsson is seeking an experienced Water Treatment Technical Expert to enhance water treatment process engineering capabilities nationwide. You will provide firmwide technical leadership for drinking water treatment, advanced treatment, PFAS, surface water and groundwater challenges.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, a bachelor’s degree in engineering (masters preferred), 15+ years in the drinking water sector, and a proven track record mentoring others and leading design projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Master’s degree in chemical, civil or environmental engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of drinking water industry experience, including process design and engineering.
• Must be a licensed professional engineer (PE).
• Strong technical background in the municipal water market, water treatment, water quality and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in leading and mentoring others.
• Active participation in professional organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for treatment process selection, design, optimization, pilot testing, and commissioning.
• Support project delivery, staff development and mentorship, and technical innovation.
• Provide insights into firm water treatment strategy and support for key pursuits.
• Identify market trends and client needs for water services.
• Build relationships with internal staff, clients, teaming partners, and stakeholders.
• Foster collaboration and team building with client focus and excellence.
• Work with clients on Olsson-led projects and develop long-term relationships.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to design water treatment facilities.
• Mentor and develop other team members to become water sector experts.
