Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a senior VMware VCF engineer to join the cloud infrastructure operations team. This remote role supports the Bank from Arizona, North Carolina, and Texas, focusing on designing, implementing, and managing VMware-based infrastructure.

You will lead deployments, optimize performance, and mentor teammates while collaborating with cross-functional groups to meet regulatory and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 10+ years in systems engineering and programming as alternative.
• Extensive VMware-based infrastructure design, deployment, and operations experience.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell/Python/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Consult with stakeholders and lead designs for VMware-based infrastructure.
• Manage VMware VCF deployments, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Develop automation scripts to stream-line deployment and configuration tasks.
• Mentor team members and provide senior-level troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VMware VCF with systems.
• Participate in capacity planning and security/compliance activities.
• Lead on-call rotations and ensure incident resolution.
• Keep knowledge current with new VMware technologies and best practices.
